Dr. Hesham Aljohary, MD, FRCSI, CABS, FACS

Dr. Hesham Aljohary is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine – Qatar and Consultant General Surgeon at Hamad Medical Corporation. He is a member of the Arab Board of General Surgery and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland and American College of Surgery.

He has a number of internationally published articles and has done numerous presentations in international congresses like European Association of Endoscopic Surgery. He is a member of many hospital committees including the Medical Records Committee, Program Evaluation Committee and perioperative quality improvement.

After completing Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBch) degree, Dr. Aljohary started his general surgery training in 1994 and had a diploma of laparoscopic surgery from France and a fellowship of general surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in 1999. He has been actively involved with educational activities on the advancement of minimally invasive surgery. He is actively involved in teaching medical students of Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar and residents at Hamad Medical Corporation as he is a core faculty of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education - International (ACGME-I) – an accredited General Surgery Residency Program.
